Prince George’s County

Prince George’s County (also known as PG County- although a lot of homeowners do not prefer that nickname because the other counties are not shortened to HW County or AA County) is a county located in the U.S. state of Maryland, bordering the eastern portion of Washington, D.C. People like living here because of the area’s proximity to Washington, DC. It is the largest and one of the most affluent African American-majority counties in the United States, with five of its communities identified in 2015 by The Washington Post “top ten list of richest black communities in America.”

Prince George’s County is included in the Washington metropolitan area. The county also hosts many federal governmental facilities, such as Joint Base Andrews and the United States Census Bureau headquarters.
