55+ Community
A 55+ or Active Adult community is a community designed specifically for individuals age 55 and older. They are age-restricted communities where one of the occupants living in the home must be age 55 or older, and additional occupants must be over 18. This applies to whether the home is sold or rented out. The individual on the title must be over 55 and the individual living in the property must be over 55. Everything from glamorous floor plans with main level bedroom suites and expected exterior home maintenance to community events and resources caters to older homeowners. These communities also have strict restrictions on how many nights children under the age of 18 can spend the night in the property (which would apply if a resident had grandchildren visiting for a holiday or summer break from school).
